Here are some tips and tools from the week that have helped our family and team.
1. Setting Goals: Not where you want to be with your weight, fitness, finances, career? It can feel defeating at times. Writing down before bed, “the 3 wins from the day”, small or big creates intentional and subconscious momentum in the right direction. It takes less than 30 seconds and may change your life like it has for me.
2. Shoes: A patient who was suffering with severe heal pain informed be about Hoka shoes. The fit, cushion and style seem to be the ideal combination to give her relief and make her feel like she’s walking on clouds. Recommended for day to day walking not sports or young kids. 4. Sauna Use: Finish study of 2,300 men over 20 years found that 14 min of Sauna use at 175 degrees reduced fatal heart attacks by 20% and 60% reduced risk of Alzheimer’s or dementia. Benefits were seen with more frequent Sauna use of 4 times per week. While many don’t have the luxury of a Sauna in our homes like most Finish households, going to a local recreation centre with one is something to highly consider as a health strategy. *
