Here are some tips and tools from the week that have helped our family and team.
1. Mental Health Tip: Not all anxiety is created equally. Many of us are self diagnosed “worriers’ and unfortunately, there is certainly no shortage of items to ruminate about these days.
A quote I came up with that I now have on my fridge is this “The antidote to anxiety is often action”.
Distinguishing between events that are in our control and those that are not is often the first step in quelling worry. Worried about leaving the house on time? Can you spend 15 minutes packing lunches the night before. These small consistent efforts can pay ten fold in the long run. – Dr. Shahana
2. Spring Break Chiropractic Check up: When is the right age to bring a child in for a chiropractic visit? You’ve heard the saying that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” It’s never too late or too early.
On the flip side, if your child frequently complains of stiffness in their neck, back, headaches or migraines it’s also time to get it looked at. We hope to inspire your children to learn to live their best life possible. Here is a stretching routine we designed for young children.
3.The Power of Unfocused Time: Focus, Focus, Focus! We are told to do this everyday for the task at hand. When do you un-focus? At the end of the day? It’s been proven now that un-focusing even for 5-10 min at scheduled points in the day can boost productivity but most importantly have you feeling more energetic and less “spent” at the end of the day. Start with a timer every 45 min for 5 min of planned unfocused time. Day dreaming, a water cooler stroll, stretching, talking to a friend all count as unfocused time. This may not be realistic for all jobs, but it’s worth a conversation.
Have a blessed weekend.Be well and Be great,
