5 For Friday!

Here are some tips and tools from the week that have helped our family and team.  

1. Recent Purchase: Aqua Veggies Dulse Flakes are dried seaweed flakes which are super high in B6, iodine and iron. A nutrient and mineral dense superfood! Amazing topper on salads, soups, pizza, popcorn. A little bit goes a long way and the kids seem to love it!

2. Documentary: The Game Changers: I was inspired by how many athletes are performing at a world class level on a plant based diet (no meat and all plants). In our family, we are guilty of telling our kids that you have to eat meat to “get muscles”. Let’s not forget that the cow, chicken, pig etc, all get their “muscles” not from eating meat, but grass and plants. Interestingly, a Silverback Gorilla that is 20x stronger than a human, eats only plants. 

We all want to be at our best, you may not need to make a dramatic shift but consider more plant based proteins such as: Lentils, mung beans, organic Tofu, hemp, chia, peanut butter, broccoli, peas, nutritional yeast are all great sources of protein.

4. Time Change Reminder: Day Light Savings starts Sunday. Don’t forget to set your clock forward by one hour. Enjoy the sunshine!
