Here are some tips and tools from the week that have helped our family and team.

1. Extra Virgin Olive Oil Wins: In one study they asked participants to replace the fat in their diet with olive oil and another group to use soy bean and corn oil. The olive oil group had a 53 percent increase in immune system markers of health. The other group had no change at all!

2. New Book: Peaceful Parents, Happy Kids: How to stop yelling and start connecting. This is turning into a favourite parent handbook. It reminded us how valuable acknowledging a child’s feelings are without passing judgment, ie learning to be truly emphatic to your child’s situation. Bottom line: “Re-connect before you correct”.

3. Magnesium Biglycinate: We noticed taking this supplement before bed, helps relax the nervous system and promote better sleep.  It’s gentle on your stomach and tastes good. Many of us are deficient in magnesium due to insufficient intake in the diet which can lead to fatigue and muscle spasmsNuts are also a great source of magnesium

4. Spine Health: Did you know that your spine protects your central nervous system? Your central nervous system is like the master controller, it controls everything! This is why we place so much emphasis on spinal mobility, posture, nutrition etc. Taking care of your spine is like brushing your teeth, just a little bit daily!

We will be closed on Monday Oct. 11th but open to serve patients 10AM-Noon & 3-6pm on Tuesday Oct 12th.
