5 For Friday!

Here are some tips and tools from the week that have helped us.

1. Adversity Advantage: Did you know there is a way to turn everyday struggles into greatness? Try CORE.
C – Control - Turn the need for control into the power of influence
O – Ownership – Recognize you can make a difference
R – Reach - We perceive a “black cloud” during adversity, how thick and wide are you perceiving that cloud to be. Can you contain it and instead of magnifying it?
E:  Endurance  – How long do you predict this adversity to last?  Have hope that it will not endure long.

2. Do you feel like you are rushing from one place to another? I do. The book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry teaches us to take pleasure in slowing down our lives. Tip: 90% of people leave their phone on their nightstand. After brushing your teeth, try “tucking your phone into bed” and plugging it into the bathroom wall. “Good night phone”.

3. Phone Ergonomics: We weren’t born or taught how to use devices with ideal posture. Remember it’s not how bad the posture is, it’s how long and how often you get into that posture. Here are some more tips.

4. One of the healthiest activities: Go for a walk with a friend or loved one and talk about your problems. Reconnecting, “talk therapy”, hanging out, or whatever you want to call it, builds social connection and strengthens our role and purpose in society.
