1. Striking Quote: “Anxiety is experiencing failure before it happens” – Seth Godin. How many times do we play out our fears in our head? I’m always reassured when I remember 99% of our fears never manifest. Revisit Dr. Shahana’s COVID and Anxiety Talk for extra help.
2. Exercise: It can be hard to get that shoulder tension to release. We filmed a new lacrosse ball exercise to target the section between your neck and your shoulder. I love doing this one before working out. Let me know how it goes.
3. Superfood: Goji berries (wolf berries) have made their way back into our pantry. A powerful antioxidant that has ben around for over 2,000 years. It’s rich in beta carotene and lycopene. Found to be beneficial for eye heath, strengthening immune system and regulating blood sugar.
4. Recent Purchase: Picked up this High Performance Planner and Journal which has helped me stay more focused and build better habits by prioritizing what matters. Shahana stated her one goal was simply to write in it every evening for 90 days. It’s a great place to start.
5. Sleeping: It would be nice if we could just press the power off button like we do for our phones and computers. The reality is we need to signal to the brain its time to rest. Elements to consider: Phone put away (this is hard), lights down, candles, brain wave music (see previous posts), camomile tea, 10 min stretch with lacrosse ball, bedroom temp between 16-18 degrees.
