Here are some tips and tools from the week that have helped us.

1. Did you know your brain has different waves or electrical patterns? They vary in frequency by the state you are in. The 4 most recognized are.

  • Alpha – Relaxed focus/meditation,
  • Beta - Alertness, concentration
  • Theta - Sleep
  • Delta – Deep Sleep

You can easily find tracks to help you settle into a specific state. Experiment with how you feel when you listen to different frequencies. This album on Spotify is my current favourite. Check out the Alpha state before bed.

2. Quote to Ponder: ” The most important thing for children to become resilient and thrive is to have a positive relationship with an adult that creates a secure attachment” – Dr. Kelly McGonigal. Simply put, the number one job is to make sure the child knows you will care for them regardless of failures or adversities.

3. *Another Fish Oil Study: Effect of Omega-3 Dosage on Cardiovascular Outcomes. A meta-analysis of 40 clinical trials found that supplementation with fish oil was associated with a 35% reduced risk of fatal heart attacks. Interesting that they found the benefits increased when adding an additional 1000mg of EPA and DHA. We take between 3-4g a day with Vitamin D added in. Study found here.
