Here are some tips and tools from the week to live at your best!

1. Eating Fat to Get Healthy and Lose Weight.  Change the percent of Carbs vs Fat. Instead of 60% Carbs and Sugar and 20% Fat.  Try 60% Fat, 20% Carbs and 20% Protein.  You burn 300 calories more a day, same calories in but higher fat speeds up your metabolism. Drop the Carbs! Here is the interview that explains it with Dr. Hyman. 

2. Fact: Two slices of white bread raises your blood sugar more than a table spoon of sugar. Hopefully my uncle reads this and understands why his sugars are messed up after breakfast!

3. The bread we eat isn’t the bread we ate. If you can’t step on your bread without it squishing, you shouldn’t eat it. Meaning its not as dense in grains as it used to be. Unless its like  hard German Rye Bread, toss it.

4. Found myself slamming back some delicious  chocolate covered pretzels,  purely because they were in front of me. For many, there is excess refined food around the Holiday times. Let’s pause for a moment and be grateful and maybe we can consciously eat the food in front of us and get what we need.
