5 For Friday!

Here are some tools and tactics from the week to live the best version of you.

1. Healthy Chocolate Mug Cake - Shahana and I love making this gluten and dairy free Chocolate cake in a Mug. It takes 2 min, relatively healthy (choose your toppings) and hits the spot. Here is the link, you can scroll down to their recipe.

2. Book Recommendation: Oxygen Advantage. Simple, Scientifically Proven Techniques to Help you Become Healthier, Slimmer Faster and Fitter.  The author Patrick McKeown has trained over 5,000 people, including olympic athletes. He advocates for regular breathing through the nose day and night and taking smaller breaths. He states “True health and inner peace occurs when breathing is quiet, effortless, soft, through the nose, abdominal, rhythmic, and gently paused on the exhale.” Check it out. The science and results are remarkable!

3.  Stretches from Dr. Alibhai that can be done standing. We shot this quick video that summarizes some of the basic stretches to keep you mobile and feeling great. Enjoy!

4. Getting Things Done while managing your time and energyThe Pomodoro Technique is great for students, parents and office workers. Choose your task to accomplish, set the timer for 25 minutes, once it goes off, take a 5 min break, every 4th interval take a longer break. So simple yet so effective. Finish your tasks with energy and better performance. There are some great apps just for this technique.

5. Quote to reflect onYour mind is for having ideas, not holding them.” “If you don’t pay appropriate attention to what has your attention, it will take more of your attention than it deserves.”  – David Allen author of Getting Things Done.

Have a blessed weekend!
